This very minute that I am writing, I conveniently forgot the reason of my anger. But, yes, I was angry and I made him feel that anger. I turned my back on him when we were about to sleep. This is one drastic move to a boy used to being hugged while he goes to dreamland.

You see, we sleep together. My boys and I. When we are with their daddy, the four of us roll on two beds purposely put together so we have a big space to sleep in. Firstborn sleep in his Daddy’s arms while Secondborn sleeps on my arms. Most often, you’ll see Firstborn on top of his Daddy’s chest soundly sleeping. He would cry out for his Dad when he feels him gone, even when he is just going to the toilet. There should be words of comfort like “I’ll be back” or he would let out a cry. “Who will hug me?” from Firstborn is frequently heard in our household. This sleeping habit is lovingly tolerated.

Good thing that hubby and I both believe in co-sleeping with our kids. We are more comfortable with it than putting them in their own beds in their own room. That time will come. But not yet. Not yet.

When we woke up the next day, Firsborn’s first words were “I love you, Mommy!”

When we slept again that night, his head was on my left arm while Secondborn’s head was on my right arm. That’s how we sleep when hubby is not with us. I would end up with cramped arms. But it’s a practice that I also could not let go yet.

Then Firstborn reminded me:

“Mommy, remember last night, you were angry with me? You did not hug me?”

“Yes, you made me angry, that’s why.”

“But you love me. So when you love me, you still need to hug me even when you are angry with me.”

I was out of words.

One time, after Firstborn’s tennis class three Korean ladies got into the Lapaz tennis court. They were looking for a tennis pro for the son of one of the Korean ajummas who, they said, is on an advanced level already in Korea. Knowing how meticulous Koreans are, I was not surprised when they requested to watch the next day’s training so they can check the intensity of how the coach trains his students.

As it turned out, the schedule set for the next day was between the tennis pro and his son who is a Palaro National Champion .

At one point during a drill with his son, Joy kept on telling him how to go about the drill. He simply declared, “I should listen to my wife. She was the one who made my son a champion”.

Coach Joni had been a tennis pro in Amanpulo and had done tennis drills with international celebrities. He is still contemplating whether he is going back to Amanpulo or accept a post in the Carribbean. Parents were treated with their kids strutting on stage. Some kids took the stage as their own modelling with confidence, some reluctantly walked while the others had to be guided.

It was fun! There were unexpected acts… just as you would expect from kids.

I got a glimpse of Firstborn on TV in the Jessica Soho GMA show, May 5, 2012 episode.

This picture was taken during Maui Taylor’s first shooting day in South Korea for the movie “The Taste of Money” which is officially in competition in the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. I have the same stills taken on the same spot with the same actors… but I believe my own take of the same picture was not published (not even in my private FB account). I actually checked my FB pictures and those published there were from different angles.

I chose the swimming pool in Sarabia Manor Hotel because it is huge and quite safe for beginners. I didn’t know of any swimming instructor (remembered a friend when I enrolled my son already, too late) so I just called Sarabia and I was referred to one of their swimming instructors here. Firstborn is having a good time and he is comfortable with his instructor. I just find the progress a little bit slow:-). I’m thinking of transferring him to another instructor in another venue when his session here ends. Anyway, the important thing for now is, he is immensely enjoying the sports. He looks forward to every session.

For the next level… a little bit of push for a little bit of competitiveness won’ hurt:-)

It sure was an exprience I missed.

When I read the script, I knew that the highlight for the kids’ (Firstborn and his Nuna) appearance was going to be at the end, before the credits. And it was. It was the scene shot in Cebu which took a grueling 8-10 hours. I am excited to watch it for myself:-). I hope hubby will be able to go back to Seoul from his over-extended business trip in time for the VIP premiere on May 15. A movie’s VIP Premiere is by invitation only and I heard this will be attended by Maui Taylor.

Regular showing will be on May 17. So, Filipinos in South Korea, save the date. Have your group movie date on this day and support the movie which is also in competition in Cannes this year.

I got to visit the place today at The Robinsons Place while Firstborn was at his summer workshop.

Why oh why wasn’t I surprised when I saw a UP college classmate there?:-).

To be honest though, it wasn’t what I expected it to be.

I was picturing out a comfy, cozy place where you could curl up and read a book or browse the net. I can’t take out of my mind that cozy nook in Glorietta that closed down more than a decade ago, The Armchair Reader. Philippines was not yet ready for that that time.

When I asked for the wifi code, I was informed that I should have a minimum of P100 to freely surf the net inside their “library”. I only spent P75 for coffee and choco crinkles:-). You could also get to use the free wifi if you are a member. Members can borrow books and read books inside the cafe. If you aren’t you could only read newspapers.

And I thought the aircon was off because there were only two (including mine) tables occupied… turned out it was for further repair.

Oh well, turned out I wasn’t too impressed.

Here’s to celebrate another month of our very precious baby.

I saw these signs in several boutiques while I was going around the mall where Firstborn is having his 3x/week workshop with Sikat Academy. I actually expressed my surprise and asked what those signs were for? It was the sales ladies turn to be amused. They told me selling clothes in lay-away plans is normal and has been a practice for quite awhile. I asked who would do that, I mean, buy things through a lay-away plan? “Students”, they answered. Students would pay for the item they reserved everytime they have money to spare until they pay the whole amount. Only then would they be able to get the item.

Do you know how much are the items on display? Php300, 500 and rarely touches the 600 level.

My reaction? “If those girls are my daughters, they would never receive an allowance from me again!”  

It’s  not about buying clothes that I am against with. It is about spending money that you don’t have in your hands yet. Girls with this kind of attitude will end up having maxed out credit cards.

“Don’t live beyond your means, not even within your means. If possible, live below your means.”
