Good thing I was able to buy inexpensive age-appropriate worksheets for my 6-year old and 3-year old kids before I left the Philippines.
Anticipating the difference between the school year in the Philippines and the international schools here in South Korea, I knew that my 6-year old will have to spend 4 months without going to formal school before he starts 1st grade this August. My second son also just started going to a Korean kindergarten last June. We had so much time to be together and I didn’t want those moments to pass by without inculcating the importance of learning new skills.
I purchased these books from SM City Iloilo. I got them at the second floor displayed together with the school supplies section.
These books are less than P100.00. The 3 books at the front cost P49.75. How’s that?
Not pictured are Science worksheets which cost less than P200.00. My kids loved the Science worksheets they each had and they finished them in no time. I had to control the number of pages they had to do in one session or else… My 3-year old loves the “Mazes” worksheet. He calls it “my games”… as interesting as I-pad games:-).
When I came over here in Seoul, I dropped by Whatthebook and I got worksheets for the same skills and each costs 5,450-won ($4.85 or PhP211)… tsk… tsk… tsk.
So, for Mommies who like to supplement their kids’ learning, a trip to the mall and browsing through the educational materials section is really worth the time and effort. You’ll get a good buy… and a renewed inspiration to bond with your kids through learning with lots of fun.
