I was convinced by a classmate from my Photography class to register at the Global Pinoy Center. He always sees me lurking aroung in SM City Iloilo whenever kiddos are in school, that’s why.
Free coffee and a place to “tambay”, he says:-).
And so I registered. I only showed my Korean Alien Certificate of Registration. And I was asked to fill-out the membership form and pay P150.00. Not bad.
I used the Global Pinoy facility twice, so far. It isn’t bad, at all. Since I am not yet an SM Prestige card holder, I can’t get into the Prestige Lounge without friends who are Prestige card-holders. So, the Global Pinoy facility is a good alternative. I don’t have to fall in line in the toilets around the mall. I have a place to stay and read and browse the internet, and the best part of it all is that I don’t get to spend anything while I am waiting for the kiddos’ class to finish.
It’s a neat place to stay in while you are being served coffee or iced tea. If you don’t have your own laptop or tablet, there are two computers provided for free browsing. The Center also offers free voice calls for your loved ones abroad. The last time I was there (last week), they are still setting up the phone lines in the four booths made available for calling. I was told that pretty soon, members will be able to avail of this free international call. I don’t know if there is a time limit for the calls (I’m sure there will be) but hey, a minute or two of hearing your loved ones voice for free is more than a treat!
The Global Pinoy Center at SM City Iloilo is located at the ground floor left wing. It’s also just infront of Posh Nails where I have my nails done:-).
