Family-Friendly Hotels in Singapore

We chose to stay in two hotels during our vacation in Singapore. We checked-in at Hilton Hotel along Orchard Road to cover our Orchard Road sightseeing. We checked in at Conrad Centennial to cover the Marina Bay area. This way, we didn’t have to cover the distance (which is not really much though as Singapore is just a small country) of traveling and it proved to be more comfortable for us with two small boys for company.

Hilton Singapore is a 4-Stars hotel. It is located at the other end of Orchard Road and is just less than a 5-minute walk from Ion Singapore, a high-end department store. All of Orchard Road is actually lined with department stores so our stay in Hilton was focused on what’s to be discovered along Orchard Road. Our stay here was very special for our Firstborn. His dad made him feel like a responsible bigĀ  boy. Upon getting our hotel card keys, hubby gave him his own card key which he should bring all the time because he is a “big boy traveler”. We allowed him to insert his card key in the elevator so we could get to our own floor. He was also the one who opened our hotel room:

We only brought one stroller for our Second Born. Good thing, the hotel had an available stroller which they lent to us for free. It was a relief walking around without our Firstborn constantly complaining he was tired.

It was just a little disappointing to note that our hotel room was not meticulously cleaned and we were not given complete supplies on the first cleaning day. I had to ask housekeeping for additional supplies. I think I know why. I didn’t leave a tip. On our second day, we came back to the hotel room satisfied with the hotel service. I could safely assume that it’s because of the tip, can’t I?

Conrad Centennial is a 5-star hotel with a 5-star customer service. As soon as we have confirmed our booking, a PR manager immediately sent hubby a message of confirmation and when I took over, we had 2 more email exchanges for our convenience. When we arrived at the hotel, we didn’t just go to our room on our own. A hotel lobby staff accompanied us to the room and took note of other things we needed.

On top of the complimentary water, we were greeted by these:

  • a tray of fruits with a Conrad Teddy Bear on the side for 1 kid (our reservation says we were bringing 1 kid) and a box of chocolate

Other hotels have 2 pairs of hotel room slippers. Aside from this standard supply, we got a kid slipper, too:

I was really impressed with the hotel’s attention to their guests’ details like checking in with a child and supplying needs for the child, too. My kids were just too happy to see the small teddy bear, the coloring book and the small slipper. Of course, I was happy with the box of chocolates.

We were also able to borrow a clean, almost-new looking stroller for our Marina Bay area strolling convenience. We didn’t need to ride a taxi going around. Why would we when we were in the middle of it all? Just look at the view from our hotel room:

When it was necessary for us to check on emails, I was informed that guests can use 15 minutes of internet time at no cost. Beyond that, hotel rates apply. Hubby and I happily went down to the 5th floor and found this cozy waiting area of the business center:

I absolutely find nothing to complain about with Conrad Centennial Hotel. It is family-friendly and yet it retains its elegance. 5-star indeed!
