hi brandi - in the meantime, shouldn't he be taking low-dose antibiotic to prevent infection?

i pray that he will soon be able to get that surgery.

My husband has VUR or kidney reflux he was born with it, he has to catheter himself daily and usually still ends up with reoccurring UTI's. They reccommend surgery for him but as of right now we can't afford it. Hopefully soon though.

Hi Maria, having VUR is not really painful. it's complications arise when the child has UTI. that would affect the kidney:-).

hi there! tell me more...

my niece (in the philippines) had a kidney condition before and it was rather late when they found out... she had to undergo dialysis on a daily basis until they found a donor... she had a kidney transplant two years ago (the "donor" asked for a million pesos!) but she still takes medication and my brother still spends about 30,000 pesos a month just for her medicines
