Three Years Ago Today

Three years ago today, my husband and I made our wedding vow in the picturesque Caleruega in Tagaytay, Philippines.

As this had been my vow three years ago, this will forever remain:
Through the years of pain and laughter,
you have become my confidante, my friend, my lover.
the past eight years bonded us, tested our strength
and made us stronger for each other.
You have made me laugh to your funny, and sometimes, corny jokes.
But more than that, you made me laugh through my tears.
I promise to be a good friend to you…
your rock when you need strength
your pillow when you need gentleness
your blanket when you need warmth.
I will be your bestfriend
your wife and your mistress.
I will love you forever for the rest of your life
and for the rest of mine.
in the name of the father and of the son
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
But it was my husband’s wedding vow that took everyone’s breath away, mine most especially.

My husband sang “That’s All” as his wedding vow. As I am not a music person, I have never heard the song before so the lyrics made an even greater impact it brought out a flood of tears from me. Thanks to my make-up artist, I didn’t end up looking a mess:-)

More anniversaries to come…:-)
