The UP Oblation Run 2008

Today is the international founding date of Alpha Phi Omega, one of the prominent UP fraternities. What makes the fraternity exciting? The annual Oblation Run, what else!
The Oblation Run is an annually anticipated event of the fraternity where members run naked around the campus. It’s original intention was to express protest about a current political or economic situation. The [...]

What’s Up There?

My previous posts talked about the unpleasant experiences I had last Sunday. But there are two redeeming factors, though.
My husband treated me to a lunch buffet in New World. While the Little Dynamo was busy with his spiderman painting (painted on him by a lady provided by the hotel for kids’ entertainment), I filled my [...]

My Sunday Morning Philippine Experience

It saddens me that I have to share my unpleasant experiences last Sunday. But the experiences gave me a depressing realization that some things just could not change.
It started off with my PAL encounter. As my husband cannot bring me and my son back to the airport, I had to take a taxi that afternoon. [...]

My Sunday (December 7, 2008) Morning

I want to write about my Sunday morning but I feel drained just thinking about it.
I still feel the need to share about my experience though, so here’s my letter to the customer service department of Philippine Airlines.
Good afternoon.
I would like to file my complaint against your staff (Carla Patricia Fonturom) and supervisor (Adorable Espejo) [...]

Metered Taxi

Even a 5-star hotel in Makati City does not guarantee good English:-)

More than the English though, I was surprised to find that the taxi meter of the taxi I took from New World Renaissance Hotel in Makati City to the airport amounted to P180.00. That’s fast. Very fast.
Me: “Masyado po yatang mabilis ang metro ninyo.”
Taxi [...]

Iloilo-Bound

Another destination for the Little Dynamo.
Today, we are flying to Iloilo. It will only be the two of us, though. The hubby is flying back to Seoul today. Business’ over here in the Philippines for him. We will be reunited as a family on the 23rd in time for Christmas.
In the meantime, the Little Dynamo [...]

I am Peter Parker!

A day before we left Seoul, husband and son were watching two men cleaning the glass windows of the apartments in Trapalace. They were hooked on a rope and rapelling up, down and sideways. This fascinated my Little Dynamo and my husband promptly perked up some more of his interest by calling the men “Spiderman”. [...]

Three Years Ago Today

Three years ago today, my husband and I made our wedding vow in the picturesque Caleruega in Tagaytay, Philippines.

As this had been my vow three years ago, this will forever remain:

Through the years of pain and laughter,
you have become my confidante, my friend, my lover.
the past eight years bonded us, tested our strength
and made us stronger for each [...]

Reminiscing… A Wedding to Remember

Tomorrow’s our third wedding anniversary…
I got married to the man I love and the man I can’t live without.
He gave me a wedding to remember…

in a place no one will ever forget…
Close to the sky… closer to heaven… we got married on a hilltop.

Where We Knew That We Were Going To Have Our Little Dynamo

It was on March 4, 2006 when we learned that I was pregnant with our Little Dynamo. It was the night before my husband was to leave for Seoul.
My husband got us a room in the then newly-opened Crowne Plaza Hotel beside Robinson’s Galleria in Ortigas. My brother-in-law excitedly gave us a pregnancy kit, expecting that [...]
