Metered Taxi

Even a 5-star hotel in Makati City does not guarantee good English:-)

More than the English though, I was surprised to find that the taxi meter of the taxi I took from New World Renaissance Hotel in Makati City to the airport amounted to P180.00. That’s fast. Very fast.

Me: “Masyado po yatang mabilis ang metro ninyo.”

Taxi Driver: “Talaga? Kakalabas ko lang kasi nito e.”

Me: “Pa-check nyo po. Christmas pa naman. Baka marami ang magreklamo sa inyo.”

Taxi Driver: (kamot ng buhok)

Tsk. Tsk. Nothing much has changed.

  1. hi jehan, ibang klase mag arrange ng contract price ano. i really don’t like the practice of contracting the taxi fare when we have the taxi meter to use.

  2. i remember when i just alighted the victory bus in pasay station– a porter immediately pulled my luggage away. i had to run after it and scolded the porter i still had a business to do but he just kept on walking like he’s the owner of the luggage. he brought me in front of a taxi parking lot exclusive lang daw for airport and that your things are guaranteed safe so P350 daw yung bayad. i said “mama from here to airport P100 lang po ano”. “kelan pa yon? 2 years ago?” sabi ko, “oh, 2 weeks ago lang nong sinundo ko bayaw ko from centennial airport”. “o sige, P200 na lang”. and i said “mama, mag-metro po kayo. di porke pa-alis mga tao e may pera po.” so wala kami imikan til centennial 2. pero pagbaba ko, he said, “ang bigat pa man din ng bagahe ninyo” sabi ko naman “mas mabigat pa po dyan yung 7 years old na pamangkin ko, 20 kgs lang po yan ah. consider it as isa pang kasama kong batang pasahero”…. hay kainis, buti na lang excited ako makita husband ko non… kkkk
